The Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) I is an entry-level position in which you will coordinate with a team of other ISDs to review and validate training materials in support of technical subject matter. The ISD I will demonstrate effective needs analysis, course design, course development, quality management, evaluation, and project management skills. The ISD I independently will work to validate QA instructor-led and computer-based instructional material before being delivered to the training facilities for instruction. Responsibilities Perform validation of instructor-led and computer-based instructional material Coordinate with ISDs and Material Preparing Activities (MPAs) to assist in troubleshooting efforts as required, for course validation issues Work with subject matter experts (SME) to identify training needs Participate in team brainstorming and strategy meetings to define training objectives Other duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Higher education preferred Formal training in instructional methodology and adult learning gained from military training schools and/or college education Experience may substitute for formal training and/or education Background check with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong written and verbal English grammar, spelling, punctuation, usage, and pronunciation Knowledge and application of adult learning principles and instructional design models Proven working experience in instructional design and instructional technology Ability to effectively review instructional text, audio scripts, and video scripts Microsoft Word: Basic text formatting functions, tables, bullets, numbering, hanging indents, inserting graphics, tracking changes, and accepting comments and changes Microsoft PowerPoint: Basic text formatting, tables, master layouts, text, and title placeholders, entering slide notes; ability to use graphic design features to create screen layouts Microsoft Outlook email and calendaring: Send, receive, and file emails and create and accept calendar appointments and invitations Ability to maintain and access files in an organized fashion on both local hard drive and network drive.
