The FWCJUA is seeking an Underwriter with strong communication skills, NCCI classification experience, computer savvy with proficiency in Excel and Word. the candidate must have a positive "can do" attitude with good job tenure. A successful candidate will perform Employer applicant reviews to determine eligibility for insurance coverage and shall either bind the coverage or deny coverage based upon prescribed underwriting guidelines. Eligibility for coverage is determined through research and analysis of the applicant's risk exposure including, but no limited to, operations, classifications, ownership, prior workers compensation experience, and loss experience. A successful candidate will also be responsible for responding to industry questions regarding the FWCJUA's rules and procedures as well as participating in projects relating to all operations of the organization. An ideal candidate should have the following qualifications and skills: Workers' compensation underwriting experience with a sound understanding of the workers compensation classification system, premium calculation, experience rating plan, Basic Manual rules/procedures, and general underwriting principles. Ability to work independently while supporting a team environment Track record of success in achieving deadlines while managing multiple tasks Analytical and critical thinking skills Strong communication (verbal & written), interpersonal and organizational skills Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office (particularly, Word & Excel) and the use of the internet Attentive to detail Conflict resolution capabilities Reliability, flexibility and adaptability Conversant in Spanish is a plus, but not required Awesome team, great benefits, bonus opportunities and a casual workplace.
